Former Mid-Buchanan All-State standout Brett Pierce is now ready for his next journey in basketball, this time as the Head Coach of the Chilhowee Indians. Pierce, who also played basketball at the college level at Peru State, will serve as a PE teacher in the class 1 school district.
Pierce helped out with the Mid-Buchanan Basketball team this past season in a volunteer role and has also assisted the team in their summer activities throughout the years. As a player, Pierce was an All-State Point Guard on the Dragon team that won a class 2 District title in one of NWMO's memorable district clashes of all-time. That title ended a 25 year drought for District titles at the school. Pierce scored over 1,000 points in a career that saw him involved in over 90 wins. Pierce will take over a team coming off a 21-7 and will likely blend his experiences at Mid-Buchanan and Peru State as well as dip into a family of coaches that include his father Bob, who was a coach at Mid-Buchanan as well. The Mid-Buchanan family wishes him the best at Chilhowee.
