Four Senior Dragons will take the floor as teammates at least one more time in the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Coaches Challenge this Saturday. The tournament is a single elimination tournament that pits teams from 8 different regions of the state against each other. The tournament coincides with the MBCA coaches hall of fame ceremonies and Academic All-State ceremonies where NW team members Braydn Kemper, Tanner Smith and Alex McQuinn are part of. The games take place at Drury University in Springfield.
The Northwest area team has had some struggles in the past and drew the powerhouse Southeast Missouri team in the opening round which is always usually loaded and features 3 players from the class 4 Sikeston Final Four team. Chase Gilbert, Braydn Kemper, Jake Meikel and Jackson Rumpf will represent Mid-Buchanan on the team. Zac Johnson, Bubba Miller and Colby Rapp will represent East Buchanan on the team. Tanner Smith will represent Lawson on the team. Jordan Leonard will represent Winston on the team. Jackson Beaver and MJ Johnson will represent Benton on the team. Alex McQuinn will represent Stanberry on the team. The NW team will play at 4:30 at Drury University this Saturday.
